Search Console
Connect Google Search Console so Rankings and Reports can show real clicks, impressions, and average position.
What you need
The app host must have GSC_CLIENT_ID and GSC_CLIENT_SECRET. The Google OAuth redirect URI is:
https://invenio.srv1173388.hstgr.cloud/auth/gsc/callback
(or {SHOPIFY_APP_URL}/auth/gsc/callback on another host)
Google is asked for read-only Search Console access (webmasters.readonly). Invenio does not change your Search Console property.
If those env values are missing, Rankings tells you to set them. There is no Connect button until they are set.
How to connect
- Open Rankings.
- Click Connect Search Console.
- Google sign-in opens in a new window. If the popup is blocked, Invenio opens Google in the top window instead. This avoids a 403 inside the Shopify iframe (Google refuses OAuth in that iframe).
- Approve access.
- You are sent back to the embedded Rankings tab. A toast says Search Console connected, or asks you to choose a property.
The callback route is not behind Shopify admin auth. A signed state value carries the shop so the connection is stored on the right store.
After Google returns, Invenio lists every Search Console property on that Google account (sites.list). It selects the one that matches this store's primary domain (sc-domain:example.com, https://example.com/, or the www variant). If none match, it does not pick the first property. Rankings shows a dropdown so you can choose. Change property stays available after connect. The choice is stored per shop.
After you connect
Rankings shows the property URL, clicks this month, impressions, and average position. Reports uses the same stored numbers when they exist.
Change property on Rankings opens the stored property picker. If no properties are stored, it opens Google in a new window outside the iframe, same as Connect. Disconnect removes the connection.
Connect and disconnect spend no credits.
